Joanna Vargas’s work speaks for herself. As a famous facialist with her own line of high-end skincare, she’s partly responsible for the beautiful skin of clients like Eva Mendes, Naomi Watts, and Julianne Moore. We spoke to Vargas hoping to get some of her secrets. And she came through with a trick for an effective at home facial. And it doesn’t require any products — making it all-natural.
“A great at home treatment is lymphatic drainage massage to keep skin clear, depuffed and glowing,” Vargas told me. “It is a lost art and certainly a tool that anyone can use to make the face look rejuvenated,” she continued. Here’s how she does it:
For Dry Skin
- Massage the skin in circular motions upward.
- Start at the base of the neck on the sides, where your arteries are.
- Massage in gentle circles upwards, towards the jaw, up the sides of the face and around the eyes.
- This will help coax nutrients into the tissue.
For Acne-Prone Skin
- Start on the top of the face by the eyes.
- Massage in gentle circles upwards, towards the jaw, up the sides of the face and around the eyes.
- This will draw the waste away.
“Lymphatic drainage massage can completely change the look of someone’s face,” Vargas promised. We can’t wait to test it out.
