A Nontoxic Drugstore Foundation that Will Make Your Skin Glow

Not all drugstore products are created equal when it comes to quality. But even more than color or coverage payoff, I care about safety. Thankfully, there are drugstore products that don’t contain a toxic combination of ingredients. I recently tested  L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Buildable Luminous Foundation, and I’m happy to report that I found a nontoxic drugstore foundation that works.

Why I Decided to Try It

I’m always on the hunt for drugstore makeup that gets a safe rating from EWG. And lately, I’ve been toning down my foundation. It seemed that I could either wear this L’Oreal foundation sheer, or build it up for medium coverage. So when I went to Walgreens to pick up a prescription recently, I grabbed it in the True Ivory shade.

First Impression

I haven’t used a cushion product like this before, but I liked it. Instead of using the applicator pad it came with, I used a foundation brush. It was easy to get a good amount of product on the brush and it went on smoothly. I could notice the glow and subtle coverage immediately.

I did find the packaging unnecessarily complicated, since you store the applicator (which I threw right out) on top. But that didn’t bother me too much.

My Conclusion

L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Buildable Luminous Foundation is my new favorite daytime face product. I can build it up under my eyes or on dark spots (although it doesn’t make them disappear). One downside to consider, it doesn’t last all day and you might need to reapply halfway through the day. Even so, the consistency works well for my dryer skin and I like that it doesn’t settle into my lines. It also blends perfectly with my RMS Buriti Cream Bronzer to create a dewy, sun-kissed face. The final look? That J. Lo glow I’ve long coveted.
